Before SpecTape’s involvement, the design for a monument was applied to the stenciling material and transferred to the stone for sandblasting. During this process, the areas of the stencil cut with the design often wanted to fall out during transfer.

The design falling out through the material when applying the stencil to the stone made this a messy and time-consuming process. Too much time was spent getting the stencil in place for each stone in preparation for sandblasting

SOLUTION

SpecTape diagnosed the problem and recommended a significantly more efficient solution (both financially and time-saving) using a custom-designed pressure-sensitive tape. A clear film set up on an applicator station is applied to the top of the stencil before placing the stencil on the stone.
