Riveters Tape from SpecTape

Riveting tape is a custom-made adhesive product commonly used in airplane construction.  Riveting is a technique used to join two or more materials together by inserting a rivet (a type of fastener) through pre-drilled holes and then deforming or compressing the rivet to secure the materials. You commonly see rivets on large metal automobiles, airplanes, or buses.

Riveting tape comes into play when applying the rivets.  Since riveting involves using predrilled holes, you can place the rivets in the hole and go along the line with the rivet gun to quickly apply these rivets.  However, the vibrations from the riveting process often cause the rivets to fall out of place.  SpecTape’s riveting tape prevents this issue from happening.

Aside from holding the rivets in place, the adhesive removes cleanly and has an uncoated “window” area to ensure easy visibility of rivet heads and prevent the adhesive from transferring to the rivet heads during the process.  The tough film that makes up the window area does not shatter or sliver on impact which helps save time in the cleanup process and increases overall output.

Additionally, SpecTape’s riveting tape comes in a variety of sizes to accommodate riveting projects of all sizes.  From rolls as small as ¾’’ wide to as large as 4.75’’ wide, SpecTape will be able to provide you with riveting tape for just about any project.  Contact us today to get your quote on our riveting tape.
